Transport your entire family into a timeless story about friendship in composer and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw’s musical adaptation of The Mountain that Loved a Bird by Alice McLerran. Alongside this work are colorful works by the French composers Lili Boulanger and Maurice Ravel, and the vibrant Spanish ballet music of Manuel de Falla. The finale of the afternoon, John Williams’ "Flying Theme" from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, ignites the imagination with its uplifting iconic melody, capturing the spirit of wonder that defines this heartwarming tale of family, friendship and the unknown.

This concert is designed for families with children ages 6 – 12. Please join us one hour before the performance for pre-concert activities in the lobby.
