SAN DIEGO SYMPHONY CHORUS

The San Diego Symphony Chorus made its debut performing Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with the San Diego Symphony – led by music director Rafael Payare – on the first Jacobs Masterworks concert inside the newly renovated Jacobs Music Center (October 2024). The new choral terrace, a prominent feature of the renovation, has allowed the San Diego Symphony to expand its choral music offerings, which in turn led to the formation of this expanded choral ensemble. The San Diego Symphony Chorus prominently features members of the San Diego Master Chorale, who are joined by singers representing accomplished organizations such as the San Diego Opera Chorus, Los Angeles Master Chorale and Pacific Chorale.

Among its upcoming appearances at Jacobs Music Center, the San Diego Symphony Chorus will perform with the Orchestra in Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 (May 2025) and in Maurice Ravel's The Child and the Magical Spells (October 2025) and Johannes Brahms' A German Requiem (February/March 2026), all conducted by Rafael Payare.
