Auditions - San Diego Symphony Festival Chorus
Welcome to the Audition Page for the newly-constituted
SAN DIEGO SYMPHONY FESTIVAL CHORUS (Andrew Megill, Advisor & Chorus Master)
On the occasion of the reopening of Jacobs Music Center, and the inaugural California Festival, the San Diego Symphony announces a call for auditions for singers to form the inaugural San Diego Symphony Festival Chorus, to participate in two performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor, “Resurrection” with the San Diego Symphony in November our 2023-2024 season.
This exciting opportunity will bring together choral voices in the region for two very special concerts that will mark the first orchestra subscription program in the newly renovated Jacobs Music Center. (One of the most striking new features of the indoor space will be the Choral Terrace, built above the stage area, where the Chorus will be seated and perform.)
Auditions for both volunteer and paid professional positions will be held in May 2023.
Auditions for the chorus are open to all interested singers. The San Diego Symphony encourages applications from persons of all backgrounds, and all applicants will be invited to audition without shortlisting.
